We want you, our valued customer, to enjoy your experience with Car City. We consider it important to our relationship with you that we set out clearly our terms of business with you.

The following are the terms and conditions (“the Terms”) under which Car City Ltd (“Car City”) does business with its customers (“you” / “your” etc.). These Terms shall apply to all contracts and agreements for any and all, parts, materials, accessories, repairs, works, sales, or other goods or services supplied, carried out, or provided by Car City to you, or for you or your vehicle (collectively “Services”). By requesting Car City to supply, carry out, or provide Services you accept these Terms.

1. The price quoted or estimate given by Car City for Services is valid as of the date given. Car City will make every effort to ensure that its price quoted or estimate given is accurate and correct. While Car City will make every effort to honour a price quoted or estimate given to you, the price ultimately invoiced by Car City to you may vary from the price quoted or estimate given, dependent upon a number of factors including errors in estimating, unexpected, undisclosed, or unanticipated additional work or Services required by your vehicle, changes in prices of parts and materials, availability of parts and materials, change in suppliers, changing labour costs, shipping charges, or change in specialist third party charges, which may come into effect at the time the work is completed and which are beyond the control of Car City. Accordingly while Car City will make every effort to honour prices quoted and estimates given, these are estimates only and Car City reserves the right to vary the invoiced amount or amount ultimately charged to you taking into account such factors.

2. If no price is quoted or estimate given by Car City, or if only part of the Services are covered by the price quoted or estimate given, Car City is entitled to charge you a reasonable price based on industry standards or the manufacturer’s flat rate for the Services provided or supplied, including any stripping down or disassembly of your vehicle or components leading to determination as to the practicability or otherwise of any work or Services proposed, and reassembly of your vehicle or components.

3. Car City provides a 90 day/3000 mile warranty on all Services. This warranty is additional to any manufacturer’s or supplier’s warranty available to you. This warranty covers replacing failed or defective parts that were installed by Car City, along with labour necessary to replace those parts, subject always to normal usage and proper maintenance of the vehicle by you. Failed parts will be replaced with identical or comparable parts. If identical or comparable parts are no longer available, similarly priced parts will be used. You may elect to upgrade to better quality parts at additional cost. Only those items that were replaced and billed on the original invoice to you are covered by Car City’s warranty. Warranty claims cannot exceed the amount originally invoiced to you, and damage caused to other components of your vehicle due to failure of covered parts are not covered by this warranty, nor are any consequential or incidental damages, losses, charges, or penalties incurred by you arising from the failure, performance or non-performance or negligent performance of the Services.

4. You agree that Car City, its employees, servants, agents and sub-contractors may operate your vehicle upon public and private roads for the purposes of testing and inspection as may be reasonably necessary.

5. While Car City will make every effort to supply or carry out the Services by the estimated time given to you, Car City is not liable for any delay in completing or providing Services, whether such delay is caused by external forces or factors beyond Car City’s control or otherwise.

6. Car City reserves the right to refuse to carry out any or all aspects of the Services requested by you, for any reason and whether or not a price has been quoted or an estimate given to you.

7. Car City may require payment by you of a 100% deposit to cover the costs of specific or specialist parts or materials to be ordered or supplied, or third party services provided, which deposit may not be refundable in the event you choose not to proceed with the Services requested or quoted. Where a deposit is requested Car City requires payment by you of the deposit before ordering the parts or materials or proceeding with the parts and service. Where parts are specially ordered at your request or on your instructions, they are not returnable.

8. All parts removed from your vehicle by Car City in the course of Services, if not requested by you at the time the Services are performed are deemed to be the property of Car City and may be disposed of or recycled by Car City as it sees fit.

9. Car City reserves the right to charge you storage/garaging charges for your vehicle at the rate of CI$25.00 per day should you abandon, fail to collect, or fail to accept or take delivery of your vehicle when requested by Car City to do so, or when the Services to your vehicle are completed (“Storage Charges”).

10. Car City requests that you respond to prices quoted or estimates given, or to any deposit request, within two business days. If instructions are not received from you or payment of the deposit not received within two business days, Car City will not proceed with the Services, and your vehicle if uncollected may be subject to Storage Charges.

11. Payment of Car City’s invoice and any balance owing by you, is due no later than the time of collection or delivery of the vehicle to you following the completion of the Services, unless otherwise agreed in writing by you with Car City’s Manager. Payment otherwise is due in the usual course within 25 days from the date of Car City’s invoice. Invoices unpaid or any balances due after 25 days, will accrue interest at the rate of 2% per month, until paid and in the event Car City pursues enforcement of payment you will be responsible for Car City’s legal costs incurred with its attorneys or collection agents.

12. All parts and materials supplied or installed by Car City remain the property of Car City, and title in them shall not pass to you until you have paid in full for such parts and materials and their installation. You agree that Car City may remove parts and materials installed by Car City from your vehicle, in the event you fail to pay in full those parts and materials.

13. Car City shall have a common law equitable lien (i.e. a garage mechanic’s lien) over your vehicle or vehicles in the possession of Car City, and their contents, on account of any and all invoices, charges, or balance owing by you to Car City, including Storage Charges and legal costs whether in respect of Services performed to your vehicle or otherwise owing by you to Car City.

14. Where, (i) any invoice or balance due to Car City remains unpaid by you after 25 days, (ii) you fail to collect your vehicle after completion of the Services, (iii) you fail to collect or accept delivery of your vehicle after having been requested by Car City to do so, (iv) you abandon your vehicle at Car City, Car City may (a) in its absolute discretion sell your vehicle and/or its contents by public auction or private sale, including in the exercise of its equitable lien rights over the vehicle, with the net proceeds of sale applied towards settlement of any invoice or balance owing by you to Car City including on account of Storage Charges and legal costs, with any balance paid by Car City to you, or (b) Car City may in its absolute discretion dispose of, scrap or dump the vehicle as may be reasonably appropriate.

15. Where you act and deal with Car City through an agent, employee or representative, or by any person who Car City reasonably believes to be acting as your authorized agent, Car City will be entitled to act on the request or instructions of that individual, including making delivery of your vehicle to that individual.

16. Car City may communicate with you by unencrypted email and attachments to email, text messages, WhatsApp or other electronic media. Where you provide Car City with your electronic contact details including email address etc. you agree and accept that instructions and communications relevant to the Services be provided by you and by Car City via such media, and you accept the risks inherent in those methods of communication.

17. While Car City will make every effort to ensure that your vehicle and its contents are safe and secure while with us, Car City cannot be responsible for loss or damage to your vehicle or its contents when left with us, whether through fire, theft or other causes, and you are advised to ensure that any valuable items are removed from your vehicle before leaving your vehicle with us.

18. These Terms and all contracts and agreements entered into by you with Car City including in respect of the Services are subject to and governed by the laws of the Cayman Islands and any and all disputes arising therefrom are subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of the Cayman Islands.

What’s included in my new vehicle warranty? minus plus

Each new vehicle purchased at Car City comes with a manufacturers warranty.
Suzuki Passenger: 5 years or 100,000 KM
Suzuki Commercial: 3 years or 60,000 KM
Honda: 3 years or 60,000 KM
Jeep, Chrsyler, Dodge: 3 years or 60,000 KM
Ram: 3 years or 36,000 miles
Misubishi: 3 years or 60,000 KM

Why must I follow a service schedule in order to maintain my vehicle warranty? minus plus

Each new vehicle purchased from Car City comes with a 3 or 5 year (depending on the vehicle make) warranty.

It is important to follow the service schedule provided with your new vehicle to maintain your warranty.

Should the vehicle owner not properly maintain service intervals on their vehicle, they risk invalidating their warranty. Your vehicle service schedule is a kilometer timeline that provides service details based on your mileage. You should schedule a service with the Car City Service Department at these kilometer intervals, or every four (4) months, whichever occurs first.

What is Priority Service? minus plus

Each new vehicle purchased from Car City comes with six (6) free Priority Services at regular intervals for the first 30,000 kilometers. A Priority Service covers oil and filter replacements only and does not cover full annual service required by the manufacturer.

Any charges incurred at the time of service, outside of oil and filter replacements and warranty covered costs, are to be covered by the customer.

Can I trade in my vehicle? minus plus

Yes; however, all used vehicles will undergo an assessment and inspection by the Car City Service Department prior to trade in.

Do you sell used cars? minus plus

Yes; however our selection is limited.

When you purchase a used vehicle, we provide as much detail on vehicle history as we have available. If the vehicle is still within the manufacturers warranty, you will receive the remainder of that warranty. If the vehicle is out of warranty, you will receive up to 90 days warranty.

Can I order a specific vehicle through Car City? minus plus

Yes, we can work with you build your dream vehicle and place an order with the manufacturer.

However, note that not all vehicles, trims and models are available for export to the Caribbean or for custom ordering, and manufacturer timelines and shipping restrictions may cause delays.

Does Car City Service offer a shuttle service? minus plus

A shuttle service is available 8AM-10AM Monday-Friday, and offers rides from the service center.

The shuttle service does not pick up customers.

The shuttle operates in Central George Town from 8AM-9:30AM and in West Bay Road / Walkers Road from 9:30AM-10AM.

Does Car City offer a towing service? minus plus

No, we do not offer a towing service should you vehicle break down.

However, we have a wide network of partners we can recommend should you need recovery services.

Does Car City offer loaner vehicles while my car is in the shop? minus plus

No, we do not offer loaner vehicles; however, we work directly with Avis Cayman to provide discounted rates should you need a rental while your vehicle is in the shop.

Does Car City offer window tinting on new vehicles? minus plus

While we do not provide a window tinting service at Car City Body Shop, we can work within our network of trusted partners to have the windows on your new vehicle tinted for you.

I am moving to the Cayman Islands. Do I need to own a car in Cayman? minus plus

While Grand Cayman has taxi and public bus services, it is not always convenient or time permissive to rely on these services. Owning your vehicles in Cayman is suggested for a more convenient day to day.
